In case anyone still checks up on this blog, since the new year, I have taken to a different means of recording missing assignments. Students now find the missing work on a calendar posted in the room, with the worksheets missed available for the students to get at any time. I feel this will be helpful if students simply need a worksheet, they will not have to wait in line or schedule an appointment to see me. They can then start on missing work, and then come see me for help at any time!

Today in class we took notes on quadratic equations and parabolas. We learned two methods to graph parabolas--making a table of values, and analyzing the values of a, b, and c. There is a short worksheet assignment to be completed by Monday.
Worksheet 4-1 #1-2; 6, 7, 12, 14, 15, 18, 24

Today was the Chapter 3 part 2 test. If you missed the test today, you will have until December 21 (last day before Christmas Break) to take the test for full credit, after that you will only be eligible for half credit; in the meantime your score will remain a 0.

I was gone from class on Monday. Today in class we reviewed lesson 3.8 which we began on Friday but did not finish in all classes. The remainder of the class period was given to work on the worksheet reviewing chapter 3 lessons 7 and 8: Determinants, Cramer's Rule, and Inverse Matrices.

Today in class we learned about Cramer's Rule. Students also learned to do matrices on the graphing calculators. There is an online matrix calculator you can use to help you complete your homework at here. I Googled matrix calculator and chose the "math is fun" version. This is the most user friendly version.
Homework is the back of worksheet 3.7 #13-16 and 18. If you do not have the worksheet, the alternative book assignment is pg 208 #29-31; 35, 36. You may use a graphing calculator, but be sure to show me what matrices you entered to get your answers!

Today in class we went over tests from last week, checked homework from Monday, and did an activity on Multiplying Matrices. The activity was due by the end of class and there is no new homework for tomorrow. Bring WKST 3.7 to class because we will be getting another assignment on that same worksheet tomorrow!
